I know.. I shouldn't pick on another writer...
But cold?
Another online writer Holy_Smokes! wrote about winter "down
under" as it were, on the other side of the globe (South Africa)...
and she mentioned that it was bitter cold some mornings... at what
we Northerners might consider the balmy temperature of 6 C - or
45 F or thereabouts.
I know temperature is relative. For example, when I was riding
out in San Diego last fall, I met another biker who said the he
won't take his motorcycle out if the temperature is below 62F. I
just raised my eyebrows.
62?
Granted, with the wind-chill, it can be a bit chillly, but that's
what they make gloves and Leather Jackets for isn't it?
Coldest my Harley has seen was 27 Degrees F - that's about minus
4 C - but only for about 20 minutes or so.
Anyway, back to being cold...having a few seconds on my hands while
a rainstorm has interrupted my summer plans in this hemisphere....
I thought I might throw up a picture of how I would define cold.
And that's the same deck, on which the pot sits this minute, holding
the flowers from the previous entry.
Christmas day - I think about 5 or 6 years ago.
Now DAT's cold.
Ok - so the negative has been sitting on my desk for 6 months waiting
to be scanned...
I guess it just seemed like the right time.
Love your notes Smokes... Be warm
