At first, this just might look like another one of my many lightning shots.
What you don’t know however, is that this is 100% luck. It’s a daylight shot, and the only reason the lightning is in the image is that it flashed 3 times and after I pressed the shutter the first time, I was just lucky enough for it to have flashed the second time and I found it on my image.
What you also don’t know is that I really had no intention of trying to get a lightning shot out of this, I went up to the balcony to take a panorama of the late evening sky and all of the storms that were advancing across the horizon. Shooting from left to right, I set up on this frame first, and poof, there it was. It took a bit of work with the final images to keep the lightning from being “erased” from the panorama, but I finally figured out how to do it.
