{"id":1060,"date":"2012-07-21T16:21:10","date_gmt":"2012-07-21T22:21:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/blog\/?p=1060"},"modified":"2025-03-07T04:54:33","modified_gmt":"2025-03-07T04:54:33","slug":"photos-of-the-day-7-21-2012","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/2012\/07\/21\/photos-of-the-day-7-21-2012\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos of the day, 7.21.2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The day is still young, but these were from this morning.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/7.21climb1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1188\" src=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/7.21climb1.jpg\" alt=\"7.21climb\" width=\"934\" height=\"709\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/7.21climb1.jpg 934w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/7.21climb1-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/7.21climb1-768x583.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 934px) 100vw, 934px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is a good example of an nearly impossible shot without a tripod and a HDR software package. \u00a0I actually tried to have Photoshop do an HDR conversion (High Dynamic Range) but it didn&#8217;t work out, so what I ended up doing was taking one photo of the properly exposed sky, and merging it with another photo of the properly exposed mountain and with a bit of cut N paste, there is a reasonable image. \u00a0The camera just can&#8217;t deal with the wide range of light in a photo like this.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2306\" src=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/snake1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"934\" height=\"634\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/snake1.jpg 934w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/snake1-300x204.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/07\/snake1-768x521.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 934px) 100vw, 934px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This skinny guy, about 3 feet long, was stretched across the trail and showed no real sign of being interested in moving for me. \u00a0I&#8217;m not sure what kind of snake it is, but I can tell you that it&#8217;s the first snake I&#8217;ve ever seen on the La Luz trail in the five years I&#8217;ve been hiking it. \u00a0One other time I came across a rattler in the foothills, \u00a0but never along the tram trail or the La Luz.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The day is still young, but these were from this morning.
