{"id":1464,"date":"2013-08-04T22:46:41","date_gmt":"2013-08-04T22:46:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/blog\/?p=1464"},"modified":"2013-08-04T22:46:41","modified_gmt":"2013-08-04T22:46:41","slug":"photos-of-the-day-sunday-august-4-2013","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/2013\/08\/04\/photos-of-the-day-sunday-august-4-2013\/","title":{"rendered":"Photos of the day, Sunday, August 4, 2013"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The rains missed us last night and this afternoon but the upper reaches of the trails were still wet. \u00a0I took a slightly different route up the mountain today to see if I might find some different flowers and sure enough, I was graced with some beauties.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/starburst.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1465\" alt=\"starburst\" src=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/starburst.jpg\" width=\"934\" height=\"663\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/starburst.jpg 934w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/starburst-300x213.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/starburst-768x545.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 934px) 100vw, 934px\" \/><\/a>The Starburst lives up to it&#8217;s name, especially when it&#8217;s back lit like this one. \u00a0In two days of hiking and covering 13 miles of trail, I only saw two of these, and the one yesterday was shaded and did not turn out well.<a href=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Nodding-onion.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1466\" alt=\"Nodding-onion\" src=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Nodding-onion.jpg\" width=\"934\" height=\"661\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Nodding-onion.jpg 934w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Nodding-onion-300x212.jpg 300w, https:\/\/nsrider.com\/oldBODblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Nodding-onion-768x544.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 934px) 100vw, 934px\" \/><\/a>The Nodding Onion, while pretty, did not turn out quite like I had hoped. \u00a0I have another that I took in the <a href=\"http:\/\/nsrider.com\/gallerymain\/wildflowers\/New%20MexicoWildflowers.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Slideshows <\/a>that I prefer and I was hoping to duplicate that effect.
