Just as I was shooting this one of my coworkers came by and said, Beautiful, yes, but the pollen is just killing me.
Looking at the photo I am reminded of the contrasts from the top of the mountain when it snows and I shoot the white on blue. Never fear, we’ve had big snows on the mountain all the way to Memorial Day, so it still could happen.
I was working on my nature quotes last night and after I finished I decided to read some of the quotes that are on the first of two pages. Once I read the following by Emerson, I knew that I had a photo that matched the thought:
Nature is a tropical swamp in sunshine, on whose purlieus we hear the song of summer birds, and see prismatic dewdrops, – but her interiors are terrific, full of hydras and crocodiles.

The gallery of quotes is here. This one now resides in the third gallery.

When we are unable to find tranquility within ourselves, it is useless to seek it elsewhere. François de La Rochefoucauld
I was doing some web site maintenance when I came across this photo that I posted back in July of 2002. I make it bigger and embedded the quote into the photo.

And yes, that’s very big wind in the photo below, big cold wind.
