It’s that time of year again

I skipped it last year – but this year with company in the house.. it was time to trek off to the early morning events on Saturday.

The morning was not really sunny, but occasionally a shot of light would light the balloons against the darker sky.

We were late getting out of the house but at the end of it all, it really didn’t matter, because we did get to see most of the baloons launch.

Then it was off to Santa Fe for a drive up to the top of the mountain and the aspen trail  hike.

To show just how far behind I am, I did this very hike a year ago and still have not posted any of the images.

We stopped along the way to give me time to climb up the embankments and take some photos.

This one is about 2 or 3 miles before the aspen grove trailhead.
