We drove back from pagosa springs to Ojo Caliente – soaked in the hot springs for a couple of hours and headed on back to Albuquerque.
On the way we took a detour to Ghost Ranch, the famous former environs of Georgia O’Keeffe. Her ashes were scattered on the grounds.
As we were driving into the ranch I spotted a raptor in a tree near the road.
This is why I like the new portable camera that I bought – the Panasonic DMC- ZS7 because in a pinch – if you don’t have your big lens – the 12x optical zoom does a fair job.
Thanks to Nikki Price at Hawkwatch international I now know that this is a juvenile Bald Eagle.
