Arrived in Geneva in the early morning, caught the train to Montreau and this is the first shot I took in Switzerland as I was walking to our apartment that we found on VRBO – a $75 per night efficiency that overlooks the lake.
We had free flights and Mrs. had gotten there a couple of days before. Later that afternoon we crossed the lake and walked around the lovely little town of St-Gingolph that is partly in France and partly in Switzerland.
We caught the paddle wheel on the way back.
Finally, the sun decides to set and we see the alpen glow on the other side of the lake. I was very surprised at how late the sun set in Montreux. Looking it up on google earth I saw that Montreux is as far north as Sault St. Marie in Michigan which explains the late sunsets in the summer.
